Nokia updates Sports Tracker, adds "web 2.0"
Plot routes online, share photo's
e-series.org has a nice review of Nokia's latest Sports Tracker Beta. For those who don't know, Sports Tracker allows you to track routes using a builtin or external GPS on your Nokia mobile phone. I've already been using this application intensively to plot my cycling routes on Google Earth and Google Maps in the past.
The new version allows you to sync your "workouts" and pictures you've taken during your workout with an online webservice, part of Nokia's "Ovi" Internet Services. Ovi means "door" in Finnish, and it's also my first name spelled backwards, but that's just coincidence :)
As an experiment, I've uploaded one of my previous routes. Here's the result.
The option to add photos (which, I assume, will be linked in the map itself) is nice, but unfortunately I don't take Photo's. It might be nice though to document my daily route through Amsterdam to my office this way.
