Seriously.. "registerfly.com" - don't do it!
But I had to be a cheap-ass...
After their previous annoying spamming attempts I should have known better. But my SSL certificate was expired and I wanted to fix it quickly. But as I've found out, whatever your problem is, RegisterFly is not the solution!
I should have been warned by the SSL warning I got when visiting RegisterFly's https site, and by their annoying $1 discount offer that expired a week ago.
To be done with the SSL certificate I ordered one for three years. Which was confirmed by the first e-mail:
Amount: ======= 29.97
But then their second e-mail only mentioned the costs for one year
Service : SSL Certificate Cost : 9.99 Transaction ID: 835xxxxx
I didn't notice this until things went wrong. Their Order Summary summarized things nicely:
But of course things went wrong in the final step, with a very descriptive error message (most of their site is severely broken UI-wise)
Let's hope I can get my money back. Either directly through them or by filing a complaint with Mastercard.
UPDATE
After 5 days registerfly.com hasn't even properly responded to my support question (except for the quesstion "what's your transactionid", which was clearly in the ticket itself). I seriously have the impression RegisterFly is revering to fraud/scamming these days, possibly hoping people will give up on their horrible support.
Futher updates
I've sent my dispute to my local bank who will hopefully settle this issue with Mastercard. This is purely a matter of principle; I just don't want their scam to work.
Also, while filling in the dispute documents I noticed they changed their name to "regfly(.com). They're still the same scamming, fraudulant spammers they used to be. I still can't stress this enough, don't do any business with these scammers, you will lose your money!
The fact that they changed their name says enough actually - "registerfly" has become so tainted they can't use it anymore. I bet the same will happen with regfly soon enough. Registerfly "employees" claim registerfly became a whole different company in 2007, but my issues are from 2008 so I guess nothing really changed.

Also, you may want to consider sending complaints to OpenSRS at compliance (at) opensrs.org - regfly is reseller for their domain/ssl products and I doubt if a trustworthy company like Tucows / OpenSRS want's to be associated with these scammers.
